Determination of Cross Product and Absolute Value of a vector.

Model : CASIO fx-570MS, CASIO fx-991MS

Manual determination of cross product requires determinant which is confusing and may provide unwanted error in result. You can easily create vectors in calculator and perform cross product within a minute.

Example: Find the cross product of vectors A= 3i-2j+5k and B= i+4j-3k. Also find the absolute value of vector A.(Ans: -14i+14j+14k and 6.1644)

Solution:

(Mode initialization)
MODE >> MODE >> MODE >> 3(VCT)

(Input the dimensions and values two vectors)
SHIFT >> 5 >> 1(Dim) >> 1(A) >> 3(dimension m=3 if it is a 3D vector) >> = >> 3(A1) >> = >> - >> 2(A2) >> = >> 5(A3) >> =(Vector A is submitted)

SHIFT >> 5 >> 1(Dim) >> 2(B) >> 3(dimension m=3 if it is a 3D vector) >> = >> 1(B1) >> = >> 4(B2) >> = >>  - >> 3(B3) >> = (Vector B is submitted)

(find cross product)
 SHIFT >> 5 >> 3(Vct) >> 1(A) >> * >> SHIFT >> 5 >> 3(Vct) >> 2(B) >> = (VctAns1) >> Right of Replay button(VctAns2) >> Right of Replay button(VctAns3)

(Determination of Absolute Value of vector A)
 SHIFT >> ) (Abs) >> SHIFT >> 5 >> 3(Vct) >> 1(A) >> =

An error occurs if vectors of different dimensions are specified. In this process cross product of three vectors can also be determined.
